Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Orlando is seeking a Software Configuration Management professional to support the Joint Strike Fighter Training & Logistics program. You will help track and install software on training devices and maintain the program's software data.

This on-site role requires US citizenship, Interim Secret clearance, and CM experience. You will collaborate with engineering teams, perform audits, and ensure compliance with CM policies while delivering reliable

The Work

The Software Configuration Management (SCM) team supports our media prep function on the Joint Strike Fighter Training & Logistics program. The team’s mission is to maintain the integrity and traceability of the software released by the program to its customers.

As a member of the Software Configuration team you will:

  • Track and install software on training devices
  • Maintain database of program software and data
  • Assign unique identifiers to software and data used by training devices
  • Perform software installations on training devices
  • Support routine engineering reviews and configuration audits
  • Review changes to software baseline to ensure compliance with configuration management policies
  • Ensure that data and physical media have all appropriate labels and markings
  • Disseminate data to the program and government customers

Note: This position requires on-site presence in the Orlando office to meet client needs. Seeking individuals with the ability to intermittently flex work hours to support program schedules.

You're the key figure in managing hardware/software tracking, leading engineering efforts, ensuring compliance, resolving issues, and supporting project activities.

This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration. A level 2 employee is typically an early career engineer with 2 or more years of professional experience.

Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Develops software configuration standards and policies for company-wide use. Trains software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Maintains the Software Configuration Management System including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing, software build documents, and delivery of software products to operational environments. Implements long term organizational objectives for software process improvement (e.g., SEI CMM), compliance with ISO 9000 standards, and software code reuse.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of professional experience
  • Experience using analytical skills to follow and understand relationships of hardware and software systems
  • Experience analyzing data and workflow processes
  • Experience with software tools and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

US Citizenship Required.

Desired Skills
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management in the Defense Industry
  • Experience with software development and design
  • Experience in software artifact storage systems such as Nexus or Artifactory
  • Demonstrated skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
