Job summary

Teradyne in Austin, TX is seeking a Software Architect to lead strategic software development for semiconductor test customers. The role combines customer engagement, software leadership, and engineering enablement to define practical architecture and production-ready solutions.

You will drive architecture activities, create executable plans, and mentor engineers while collaborating with test engineers, application engineers, and software teams. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of software development experience, with architecture leadership.
• Strong C# and OO design skills, reusable libraries and services experience.
• Experience with automated testing, source control, CI/CD, packaging, and releases.
• Ability to clarify requirements, document decisions, and explain tradeoffs.
• Experience influencing across teams and mentoring engineers.
• Comfort working with customers during design discussions and escalations.
• Master's degree and semiconductor/test domain knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead software architecture activities for strategic customers, clarifying workflows, constraints, and risks.
• Develop executable architecture plans with interfaces, guardrails, stages, and validation strategies.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to align solutions with platform direction.
• Build and review modular C# software with interfaces, tests, and maintainable dependencies.
• Support implementation through prototypes, design/code reviews, and issue resolution.
• Mentor test engineers in professional C# development practices with examples and reviews.
