Job summary

U.S. Legal Support is seeking a Business Analyst, IT to help improve business performance through technology and software solutions. You will work with business stakeholders and development teams to collect requirements and translate them into actionable specs.

The role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Office presence in Houston is required for meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban project methods.
  • Experience with Jira or similar tracking system.
  • Experience writing basic MS SQL SELECT queries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Assess project scope and translate user needs into requirements.
  • Ensure software solutions meet business needs.
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications for applications.
  • Assist Production Support with troubleshooting.
  • Serve as liaison between stakeholders and IT groups.
  • Maintain documentation of requirements, workflows, and designs.
  • Track project progress to meet deadlines.
  • Support release testing prior to production.
  • Manage risk assessments and change control.
  • Participate in performance tracking of project teams.

Position Overview

The Business Analyst, IT at U.S. Legal Support is a highly driven professional responsible for helping improve business performance through the effective use of technology and software solutions. This role works closely with business stakeholders and development teams to assist in implementing strategies and models that rely on software, communicate project status, and ensure solutions enhance overall business efficiency. A successful Business Analyst will play a key role in creating and implementing optimal business strategies in a timely manner.

Location

Houston, TX Candidates must be able to come in to the office for meetings as needed - Must live in the Houston area

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 - CST

Essential Job Functions
  • Assess the scope of software projects, specify users' needs to developers, and assist the business with establishing requirements.
  • Ensure software solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Possess the technical skills needed to aid developers and translate user needs into technical specifications for applications.
  • Assist the Third-Level Production Support team with troubleshooting user issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and IT groups.
  • Maintain, test, and modify business systems and operations.
  • Perform project risk assessments and requirements change management.
  • Assist with release testing prior to production rollouts.
  • Track the performance of project teams to ensure target deadlines are being met.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of business requirements, process workflows, and solution designs.
Required Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience with Jira or a similar software development ticket tracking and reporting system.
  • Experience writing basic Microsoft SQL SELECT queries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
