The role involves software development and sustainment for cloud‑enabled systems that ingest, tag, and audit data sets while maintaining security, integrity, and availability.

The team focuses on delivering operational capabilities efficiently with high quality and streamlined processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching multiple teams in Agile frameworks at both the team and scaled level (e.g., SAFe, Scrum@Scale).
  • Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and drive cross-team coordination.
  • Knowledge of flow, delivery metrics, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to identify organizational impediments and influence change across teams; proven success partnering with leadership, Product Management, and engineering teams to strengthen Agile execution.
  • Experience as a Release Train Engineer.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Job Overview

At RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking engineers to be part of an engineering team for the AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development program. The role involves overseeing and performing software development and sustainment for cloud‑enabled systems that ingest, tag, and audit data sets while maintaining security, integrity, and availability. The team focuses on developing and fielding operationally relevant system capabilities efficiently, applying best practices across the engineering continuum with a focus on improved software quality and process efficiency.

Employment Status

This position is contingent on contract award and customer funding. It is an onsite role in Aurora, CO. Employment is based on contract award and customer funding. Travel to customer CONUS & OCONUS sites is required but no more than 25%.

Compensation

Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD. Sign‑on bonus eligible.

What You Will Do
  • Function as the Chief Agilist and Release Train Engineer for the program.

What You Will Learn
  • A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi‑tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design.
  • How to lead large‑scale Agile transformations, influence senior leadership, and align organizational strategy with Lean‑Agile principles.
  • Learn how to drive end‑to‑end Agile Release Train execution by mastering cross‑team coordination, flow‑based delivery, dependency and risk management, and continuous improvement at program scale.
Qualifications You Must Have

  • Agile certification(s) such as RSM, ICP ACC, CSM, PSM, SPC or equivalent.
