Job summary

Towson University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator to join the Athletics Division on the main campus in Baltimore, MD. The role includes skill instruction, practice and game coaching, and coordinating official visits while ensuring NCAA compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of softball coaching experience, with strong communication and NCAA rules knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
One year of softball coaching experience at camp/clinic, high school, or collegiate level.
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules.
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Division I softball coaching experience.

Responsibilities

Provide skill instruction and develop a season-long plan for a set group of athletes.
Participate in practice instruction and game coaching.
Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits, host selection, travel itineraries, and budget management within NCAA rules; track admissions and train hosts on policies.
Assist with academic support, fundraising, and community outreach including alumni communication.
Coordinate with Total Tiger Program Director to track student-athlete participation in Total Tiger programs.
Assist in team operations including travel, buses, hotels, and meal planning.
Maintain video system for practices and games.
Create scouting reports.
Maintain knowledge of NCAA rules, complete monthly logs and summaries with Compliance Office.
Perform other duties as assigned.
