Job summary

Oakland University in Rochester, NY is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the head coach in building a NCAA Division I program for student-athletes. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Five or more years of coaching experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of softball and experience coaching, playing, training or developing softball athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop student-athletes in the technical, tactical and physical aspects of softball.
• Experience with student-athletes in a competitive athletic environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University.

Position Information

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Five or more years of coaching experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of softball and experience coaching, playing, training ore developing softball athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop student-athletes in the technical, tactical and physical aspect of softball.
• Experience working effectively with student-athletes in a competitive athletic environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Perform all duties in accordance with NCAA , Conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, polices, procedures and guidelines.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.

Desired Qualifications

• Offensive/Hitting coaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit top Division I student-athletes.
• Experience in practice planning, evaluating student-athletes, and managing travel schedules/itineraries.
• Experience in fund raising efforts and events.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
