Job summary

Nampa School District is seeking a Softball Assistant Coach at Columbia High School to motivate and develop athletes’ skills, attitudes, and habits, promoting fair play, teamwork, and good character. This role provides leadership and motivation to excel on and off the field.

Responsibilities include organizing practices, assigning positions, tracking performance, and coordinating with staff for transportation and officials, while ensuring safety and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Idaho Teaching Certification, ASEP, or NFHS coaching cert strongly preferred.
• Certification or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR is required.

Responsibilities

• Attend tryouts, practices, and supervise events and field trips.
• Organize practice schedules and game rosters.
• Assign positions and help develop strategies.
• Attend out-of-school meetings, supervise fundraisers, and help prepare for competitions.
• Coach softball fundamentals and athletes.
• Track performance and prepare season stat sheets.
• Coordinate transportation, scheduling, and officials for competitions.
• Ensure safety and equipment security; enforce safety protocols.
• Maintain student eligibility and assist with related paperwork.
• Support program growth and participate in annual program evaluations.
