Job summary

Nampa School District is seeking a Head Coach to lead its softball program and guide student-athletes toward success, personal growth, and good character. The role emphasizes fair play, team building, leadership, and safe, respectful conduct.

The Head Coach will organize practices and game rosters, supervise events, and work with the Athletic Director to ensure alignment with district policies and financial management. This is a temporary coaching position at the school level.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Idaho Teaching Certification, ASEP or NFISCA certification strongly preferred.
• Certification in first aid and CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Attend all tryouts, practice meetings, and in-school events; supervise students during related activities.
• Organize practice schedules and game rosters.
• Assign positions and develop strategies and styles of play.
• Coach softball and track student performance; track season statistics.
• Coordinate transportation, officials, and other arrangements for competitions.
• Ensure student safety and proper use of safety equipment.
• Comply with laws, rules, and district policies; follow concussion policy.
• Maintain eligible student participation and complete required paperwork.
