Job summary

QinetiQ US seeks an experienced SOF-space planner to embed with the NSDC at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs. You will bridge the SOF enterprise and space defense, integrating SOF perspectives into NSDC’s plans, BMC2 processes, and space superiority campaigns.

Role requires deep planning expertise, working knowledge of space domain awareness, and the ability to present operational products to senior audiences. Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; significant experience may substitute.
• 7+ years of operational planning experience with or in direct support of Special Operations Forces at the unit, command, or combatant command level.
• Demonstrated experience with the Joint Planning Process (JPP), Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), and/or APEX planning framework.
• Working knowledge of space operations, space domain awareness, or space-enabled capabilities as they relate to SOF mission execution.
• Familiarity with Joint Publication 3-05 (Special Operations) and related SOF doctrine, campaign plans, and authority frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to produce operational-quality planning products – orders, CONOPs, COAs, briefings – and present them to senior and flag-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• SOF-Space Integration Planning: Integrate SOF capabilities into NSDC plans and campaigns.
• Operational Planning & Coordination: Develop and staff orders, EXORDs, and fragmentary orders; coordinate across NSDC and partner commands.
• BMC2 & Command Support: Ensure SOF requirements are integrated into BMC2 processes and provide decision-support briefings.
• Exercises, Experimentation & Assessments: Support NACE events and wargames; develop exercise scenarios and conduct AARs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

Master’s degree in strategic studies, national security affairs, space policy, or related field
