Job summary

Maricopa Association of Governments offers a paid internship in the Transportation Data Management and Application team. The position focuses on collecting, processing, and analyzing socioeconomic and housing data to support regional planning decisions.

You will work with GIS and SQL tools, gain experience with data visualization, and contribute to quality assurance while collaborating with staff and stakeholders in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Data Science, GIS, Geography, Urban/Regional Planning or related field.
• Working knowledge of ESRI GIS suite and geoprocessing tools.
• Relational databases such as MS SQL; statistics and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze housing permit and residential data.
• Process and analyze census, demographic, housing, and parcel data.
• Develop and maintain large socioeconomic and transportation datasets for research and planning.
• Use MS Access/SQL and GIS to process and manage data.
• Perform geocoding and spatial/non-spatial analysis; visualize data.
