Job summary

Optum in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Social Worker – Per Diem to provide medical social services under physician leadership and an interdisciplinary group. You will help patients and families understand social and emotional factors related to health and develop coping strategies.

The position requires an MSW from an CSWE-accredited program and state licensure as a Social Worker, with a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation. CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from CSWE-accredited program.
• Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• State licensure as a Social Worker in the required state (IN or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide medical social services under the direction of a physician and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist in understanding social and emotional factors related to the patient's health and develop coping strategies.
• Support patients and families to navigate health care needs and resources.
