Freire Charter Wilmington is seeking a part-time School Social Worker to support high school students with college and career exploration, academics, and social-emotional growth. The role focuses on connecting students with academic, college-readiness, and personal support to graduate prepared for what's next.

The position requires certification in School Counseling or School Social Work (DE) and experience working with urban youth.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student academic performance, behavior, attendance, and social-emotional well-being, connecting students to appropriate supports as needed
• Serve as liaison between students, parents, and teachers on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional matters
• Provide brief individual or small-group counseling and support during crisis situations
• Guide students through the college process, including applications, financial aid, and College Board requirements
• Coordinate referrals to outside agencies and community resources as needed
• Attend key grade-level and student support meetings

Pay and benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position (15-20 hours per week) and is not benefits eligible.
