Summary:
To provide direct Social Work services to patients and families who have acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement that aids the families' efforts in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.
Education:
MSW or MSSW from an accredited school.
Previous experience in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and their families preferred.
Certification / Licensure:
Current Texas License for LMSW.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained per Medical Center Policy MC 175.
