Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the Case Management department. The role focuses on delivering direct social work services to patients and families dealing with acute or chronic medical conditions within a hospital setting.

The LCSW conducts supportive counseling and clinical therapy to help families maintain adaptive functioning and assesses needs for community resources to support care in either ambulatory or inpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and families is preferred.

The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement in order to support the family's effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.

Education & Experience

• Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work.

• Previous experience in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and families is preferred.

Certification/Licensure

• Current Texas License for LCSW.

• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Health Care Providers within 30 days of employment. If physically unable to complete BLS for Health Care Providers, then the employee will have the option of attending a Heart Saver program on campus or attending an outside course using a non-computerized mannequin.
