Job summary

The VOCA MAP Social Worker (MSW) at the Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Manager of Case Management and Care Transitions. Under guidance of the Coordinator, the VOCA Social worker provides direct support and interventions to patients and their families when there is a suspicion or report of abuse and/or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, IPV, and/or sexual abuse/assault.

  • Master's degree in social work accredited by the CSWE.
  • MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certification in case management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and interventions to patients and families when abuse/neglect is suspected or reported (child, vulnerable adult, IPV, sexual abuse).
  • Deliver education, counseling, safety plans, lethality assessments and referrals to resources (IPV/Elder Abuse agencies, safe houses, therapists, legal aid).
  • Communicate findings with MUSC clinicians.

This position communicates findings with the appropriate MUSC clinicians.

Credentials: MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. Certification in case management preferred.
