Job summary

Westside Federation of Senior & Supportive Housing (WSFSSH) in New York is seeking a Social Worker I to work autonomously, developing 1:1 relationships with residents and delivering a full range of social work services to promote safe, independent living in the community.

WSFSSH supports licensing for MSW level staff, offering study groups, paid exam fees, CEU credits, and weekly clinical supervision by an LCSW, with a clear path from LMSW to LCSW.

Qualifications

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational ability and time management.
• Interest in working with and supporting an aging population.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with obtaining medical and mental health services, entitlements and home care.
• Establish and maintain family and social relationships for residents.
• Budgeting and income maintenance to ensure on-time rent payments.
• Provide crisis intervention and individual counseling as needed.
• Oversee discharge planning and complete related forms and applications.
• Maintain thorough case records and coordinate with other staff and service providers.
