Job summary

Division of Child and Family Services in Nevada is recruiting for a Social Worker 1, underfilling a Social Worker 3 in the Adoption Unit in one of five rural offices: Carson City, Elko, Fallon, Pahrump or Winnemucca. This is a full-time position requiring a Nevada Social Work license.

Under supervision, incumbents learn to determine social service needs, develop case plans, and provide ongoing case management.

Qualifications

• Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work.
• Nevada Social Work license is a requirement for employment.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Deliver strength-based, family-centered case management permanency services for adoption goals.
• Implement plans of care, conduct home visits, monitor services, prepare court reports and maintain records.
• Ensure children's medical, mental health and educational needs are met.
• Assess client needs, develop and implement case plans with appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate services with state agencies, community organizations, and private providers.
• Provide crisis intervention and participate in MDT meetings as needed.
• Document case activities and communicate effectively with families, attorneys and agencies.
