Job summary

Liquid Personnel Ltd is supporting a client in Oldham who is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their Child Protection Team. You will assess risk, provide safeguarding support and work with children and families to secure positive long-term outcomes through effective interventions.

Responsibilities include carrying out assessments, developing child protection plans with multi-agency partners, attending conferences and court proceedings, maintaining records, and advocating for the welfare

Qualifications

• Registration with Social Work England is required.
• Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable.
• Post-qualified experience in social care is preferred.
• Degree level qualification in Social Work is essential.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Conduct assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs.
• Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency teams.
• Undertake statutory visits and maintain accurate, up-to-date case records.
• Intervene in crisis situations to ensure the immediate safety of children.
• Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings.
• Work closely with families to promote positive change and improve outcomes for children.
• Liaise with schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to coordinate support.
• Provide written reports and evidence for legal proceedings when required.
• Monitor and review cases regularly to ensure progress and compliance with care plans.
• Advocate for the rights and welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role you must have,

• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
