Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker for the 2026–2027 school year to support students, families, and school staff, promoting academic success and social-emotional well-being in a positive learning environment.

The candidate must meet PDE requirements for assignment as a social worker, possess an MSW, and hold or be eligible for PA licensure or PDE permits; clearances and screenings are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) is required.
• Hold a valid, active PA School Social Worker Educational Specialist Certificate, PK-12 or Hold a valid PA Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license, possess a School Social Worker emergency permit issued by PDE, and be enrolled in a PDE-approved School Social Worker preparation program.
• New clearances, Physical/TB test upon hire and Pre-employment drug testing will be required for successful employment.

Job description

Applicants must meet the PA Dept of Education (PDE) requirements for assignment as a social worker.

Candidates must meet one of the following:
