Job summary

Isle of Wight Council in Newport is seeking two Social Workers (1 post remaining) to join our dedicated team. This full-time role focuses on assessing needs, planning support, and delivering high-quality care under the Care Act, across diverse settings on the Isle of Wight.

You will work with individuals, families, and partner organisations, gain supervision and professional development, and contribute to improving social care delivery while enjoying the island community.

Qualifications

• Evidence of working with people in social care or related settings, demonstrating strong assessment and analysis skills.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with individuals in varied environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Confidence in negotiating, influencing, and developing support plans that meet service standards.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage caseloads and meet time targets.
• Authoritative knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and care resources.
• Financial awareness to ensure accurate support planning and budget monitoring.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications and specialist systems confidently, ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate data recording.
