Job summary

Center for Family Representation (CFR) seeks a Social Work Supervisor to lead a small team within an interdisciplinary legal and social work framework, advancing services for families involved with the child welfare system. You will supervise staff, manage a caseload, and contribute to staff development and policy initiatives.

Qualifications

• LMSW licensure required.
• 3–5 years of CFR or related advocacy experience.
• Experience with addiction, mental illness, or court involvement.
• Experience with racially and socioeconomically marginalized communities.
• Strong client counseling and programmatic skills.
• Ability to lead and supervise staff and students.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary representation of parents.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the Bronx community and available resources.
• Spanish or other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise two to four social work staff and interns within interdisciplinary teams.
• Carry a small caseload and provide direct social work support.
• Provide direct supervision and conduct development reviews for supervised staff.
• Supervise child protective intake along with the Social Work Director.
• Participate in staff trainings and external trainings/technical assistance.
• Coordinate monthly Case Practice and/or Social Work meetings.
• Facilitate group supervision sessions for social work staff and interns.
• Review policy statements and address issues impacting CFR’s clients.
• Participate in CMS work groups and data collection.
• Capture client stories for development and advocacy around policy issues.
• Assist with development efforts and recruitment/hiring processes.
