Job summary

Jacksonville State University’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure track position for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work. The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate students, focusing on micro- and mezzo-level practice in traditional, online, hybrid, livestream and other formats.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, scholarship, advising, and service to the program and university.

Qualifications

• MSW from CSWE-accredited program required.
• Minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience.
• Earned doctorate in Social Work or closely related discipline (by start date).
• Demonstrated potential for effective teaching, scholarship and service.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate social work courses, primarily micro- and mezzo-level practice.
• Deliver day, evening, online or hybrid courses as needed.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
• Maintain active scholarship and professional engagement.
• Advise and mentor students; participate in service to the program, university and profession.
