Eastern University seeks a dynamic Chair to provide strategic oversight and academic leadership for the Department of Social Work, driving the expansion of our educational footprint with the launch of an online BSW program. The Chair will work closely with program directors, internship directors, and faculty to advance faith, reason, and justice in teaching and scholarship.

Qualifications

• MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
• PhD in Social Work or DSW is required.
• Minimum five years of post-MS W practice experience.
• Experience with CSWE accreditation processes and prior accreditation success.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and academic leadership for the Social Work Department.
• Lead development and launch of the online BSW program.
• Oversee CSWE accreditation compliance and program quality.
• Recruit, mentor, and supervise faculty and adjunct instructors.
• Manage department budget and workloads for faculty.
• Teach courses and guide curriculum development at BSW/MSW level.
• Collaborate with program directors and department faculty on marketing, admissions, and student success.
