AmeriCorps & Senior Corps in Idaho seeks a member to support Gem State Public Health by conducting needs assessments, fostering collaborations, recruiting partnerships, coordinating meetings, and designing training materials for public health agencies. You will also coordinate ASIST Training to expand suicide prevention resources and provide academic advising on public health degree options.

Through the Gem State Public Health program, members will conduct needs assessments regarding collaborations and partnerships, and recruit potential partnerships as well as coordinate meetings, design training materials, and provide other support to public health agencies. Members will also coordinate ASIST Training for community members to increase the number of suicide prevention interventionists throughout Idaho. The program will offer members academic advising and the opportunity to explore degree options that focus on public health.
Position will increase, and enhance public health services by helping clients with intake process, model mental health coping skills and resiliency strategies, listen for indicators client needs access to mental health resources and provide resources. ISU College of Social Work offers a BA degree, and a MSW degree. Students will complete a service term at a social work agency in Idaho while engaging in activities that meet nine social work core competencies and prepare students to intervene with and help individuals, families, and communities.Position duties: assist in case management of individuals who need mental, behavioral, social, or public health support; aid in resource gathering, and case management plans for clients; apply crisis intervention, and service planning to facilitate mental health and wellness support groups; hand out mental health and other applicable supportive resources; help with assessments and intakes of individuals in need of service.
