Qualifications

• NYSED Certification: SDA or SDL required.
• 3+ years teaching experience; NYSED Social Studies 7-12 preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support K12 Social Studies initiatives aligned with NYS frameworks and Civic Readiness.
• Provide leadership and support to districts in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
• Design and facilitate PD on inquiry-based learning, disciplinary literacy, and Social Studies best practices.
• Coordinate regional Social Studies curriculum development and expansion (Grade 6 in 2027-2028; possible Grades 7-8).
• Lead curriculum writing projects ensuring standards alignment and instructional quality.
• Analyze feedback and outcomes to drive program improvement.
• Foster collaboration across districts, educators, consultants, and Nassau BOCES departments.
