Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• MSDE licensure with Social Studies endorsement required.
• At least five years of relevant full-time professional experience.
• At least three years' experience teaching Social Studies.
• At least three years developing K-12 Social Studies curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of MSDE standards, C3 Framework and CCRS.
• Ability to engage diverse stakeholders with tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across levels and partners.
• Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine K-12 social studies curriculum and assessments aligned to MSDE standards.
• Design and facilitate professional learning for teachers.
• Assist teachers and school teams with curriculum implementation and resources.
• Use data and educator feedback to guide instructional support and decisions.
• Coordinate district initiatives like Baltimore City History Day and partnerships with cultural organizations.
• Maintain social studies websites and CANVAS platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance instruction across City Schools.
• Ensure content is equitable, culturally responsive, and inclusive.
