Job summary

The Salvation Army in Ivanhoe, AL seeks a Community Services Assistant to prepare and process vouchers for eligible clients, stock pantry items, and assist with rent and utility assistance. This full-time role requires compassion, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with utility companies and landlords.

You will answer the phone, provide information about social services, support the public, and participate in special projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years experience in a social or public service environment.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, completes, and processes vouchers for food, clothing, and furniture.
• Provides clients with food from pantry; receives and stocks donated items; maintains inventory.
• Processes rent and utility financial assistance; contacts utility organizations and landlords.
• Answers telephone courteously; provides information regarding Social Service Program operations.
• Performs related work for special and seasonal projects; other duties as required.

Job description

Typical hours: Monday - Friday 8am- 4pm with a one hour lunch break.
