Job summary

San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Social Services Director to lead and shape the hospital's social work programs, ensuring compassionate, compliant service across patient populations.

The role provides strategic oversight of program development, staff supervision, discharge planning, and collaboration with community agencies to address social, emotional, and economic needs of patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work with Texas LMSW or LCSW licensure.
• Three years' experience in leading teams.
• Five years' experience in social services management.
• Must possess or obtain CPR certification and deescalation training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement social service programs and policies.
• Supervise and mentor social service staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate with other agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive services.
• Assess community needs and develop programs to meet those needs.
• Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as necessary.
• Provide direct services to clients in complex cases.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Attend regular treatment team meetings to provide social work perspectives to total case management.
