Genesis HealthCare, Inc. seeks a Social Services Director to oversee the Social Services Department at a nursing center in New Jersey. You will ensure care aligns with NASW ethics, regulations, and company policies while promoting residents’ independence and dignity.

The role requires a bachelor’s in social work or human services, state licensure, and 3–5 years’ supervisory healthcare experience; advanced certifications are a plus. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Human Services (or equivalent experience).
• Valid state certification or licensure to practice social work in long-term care.
• 3–5 years of supervised social service experience in a healthcare setting.
• Leadership/management experience.
• Certifications in Geriatric Case Management, Hospice & Palliative Care, Gerontology, Clinical Social Work, Nephrology, Mental Health, or Substance Use.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the nursing center Social Services Department in accordance with NASW Code of Ethics.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.
• Supervise two or more Social Services staff and measure department productivity.
• Ensure psychosocial assessments identify social, emotional, and psychological needs.
• Educate staff on psychosocial needs of patients and families.
