Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a part-time Social Services Coordinator to support residents of a senior apartment building in Decatur, IL. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, coordinating home and community-based services and crisis intervention with a focus on privacy and dignity.

You will collaborate with the Housing Manager, arrange resident education programs, and maintain HUD/compliance reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required.
• Background check clearance required.
• Experience working with older adults and entitlements preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide needs assessments, crisis intervention, and case management to residents while maintaining confidentiality.
• Serve as a resource for the Housing Manager and maintain contacts in the community.
• Arrange educational programs for residents and staff.
• Maintain files per HUD and LSSI requirements and complete all reports in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate professional, respectful conduct with clients, families, and partners.

Essential Functions

• Provide needs assessments, crisis intervention, and case management to residents while maintaining confidentiality.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
