The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our social media strategy, establishing a cohesive and high-performing digital presence across all platforms.

This role builds and manages the Museum’s social media infrastructure, translating scientific research, exhibits, and programs into accessible content that advances the Museum’s mission, increases public engagement, and supports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism, English, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manages and creates all social media content for the Museum every day, multiple times per day across channels.
• Manages and creates all events on social media; creates, edits, delegates content across all events and announcements
• Represents the Museum’s brand as a whole across social channels
• Collects data weekly, monthly and annually both from the Museum’s social channels as well as across the Museum’s satellite channels
• Strategies based on quantitative data and qualitative data

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism, English, or related field
