Job summary

Mari + Gold in San Diego seeks a Social Media Manager to blend creativity, strategy, and execution for client work and internal teams. Plan, create, and publish high-quality content that drives results through shoots and storytelling.

The role requires 3–4 years of experience, strong portfolio on TikTok/Instagram, and proficiency in CapCut and Canva. On-location shoots in San Diego with opportunities for growth and diverse benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of professional social media management experience.
• Must reside in San Diego and be available for on-location shoots.
• Strong portfolio showcasing experience with TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms.
• Skilled in content editing (CapCut or similar), Canva, and basic photography/video production.
• Excellent copywriting and editing skills with a detail-oriented, organized approach.
• Confident in managing shoots, developing shot lists, and directing talent.
• Strong balance of creativity, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
• Bonus: Experience with motion graphics, animation, or advanced photography.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute social media strategies that align with client goals and audience insights.
• Manage social editorial calendars across platforms, ensuring consistency and timeliness.
• Oversee and analyze performance metrics, providing monthly reporting and actionable insights.
• Monitor and engage with communities daily to foster brand awareness and loyalty.
• Plan and lead content shoots, including developing detailed shot lists and staging sets/products.
• Direct talent to capture authentic, high-quality moments.
• Film and edit video/photo content for TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.
• Ensure professional standards in lighting, framing, and sound.
• Create on-brand graphics in Canva and edit content using CapCut (or similar tools).
• Stay current with social trends, features, and platform updates, bringing fresh ideas to campaigns.
• Experiment with new formats, tools, and creative approaches to maximize engagement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design and content teams to optimize creative assets.
• Guide the team on best practices for social-first content creation.
• Strong ability to analyze performance data and communicate insights and best practices to clients clearly and effectively.
