Role Description
The Social Media Manager & Content Creator is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, Texas, responsible for managing and growing the social presence of Berg Hospitality Group’s portfolio of restaurant brands.
This role combines social media strategy with hands-on content creation. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing a content calendar, writing compelling copy and analyzing performance as they are visiting our restaurants to capture engaging photo and video content in real time.
The position is responsible for planning and executing social media campaigns across multiple platforms, managing content calendars and daily publishing, creating original content and engaging with our online communities. This role will work closely with Marketing, Operations and restaurant teams to ensure social content supports brand initiatives, events, promotions and overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage social media strategies and content calendars across multiple restaurant concepts and platforms.
- Create original photo, video and written content that reflects the distinct identity and voice of each restaurant brand.
- Regularly visit restaurant locations to capture food, beverage, atmosphere, events, team members and guest experiences.
- Coordinate and oversee professional photo and video shoots, including scheduling, shot lists, creative direction and on-site execution.
- Produce platform-specific Reels, Stories, carousels, graphics and written posts.
- Manage daily publishing across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
- Provide live social media coverage for select events, activations and restaurant happenings.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, tags and guest inquiries in a timely, professional and on‑brand manner.
- Proactively engage with followers, partners, influencers and community accounts to strengthen relationships and expand reach.
- Monitor social media and hospitality trends and test new formats, creative approaches and publishing strategies.
- Track audience growth, engagement, reach, traffic and campaign results and provide concise monthly performance reports.
- Support paid social media campaigns, including campaign setup, audience targeting, budget management and performance monitoring.
- Manage multiple brands, projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in social media management, content creation and/or digital marketing.
- Strong understanding of social media marketing, content strategy and platform best practices.
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone across multiple distinct brands.
- Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, along with photo/video production and editing tools.
- Strong visual eye and understanding of what makes food, beverage and hospitality content compelling.
- Experience using analytics and platform insights to track KPIs and optimize performance.
- Hospitality, food & beverage, luxury or lifestyle brand experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Must live in the Houston area and have reliable transportation to travel between restaurant locations.
- Must have flexibility to occasionally work nights and weekends for events, activations and timely social coverage.
