Position Overview
The Monroe Institute is seeking a strategic, analytical, and highly organized Social Media Manager to oversee and optimize our presence across multiple platforms. This role requires deep expertise in social media algorithms, engagement strategies, and content distribution to ensure maximum organic reach and visibility.
The Social Media Manager will not be responsible for the majority of content creation but will work closely with the Content Strategist & Creator and the Director of Marketing Communications to publish and distribute content eff ectively. They will also monitor engagement, manage community interactions, analyze performance, optimize for SEO and search visibility, and oversee multilingual content adaptations with provided translators.
Additionally, this role involves blog post writing, tracking performance data, and occasionally contributing to content creation when necessary.

What You’ll Do
As our Social Media Manager, you will:
● Oversee content scheduling and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and long-form YouTube.
● Manage and optimize organic social media growth strategies, ensuring maximum engagement and visibility.
● Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and audience interactions across all platforms.
● Adapt content into multiple languages by incorporating overlay text and ensuring localization accuracy (translators provided).
● Write, edit, and publish blog posts aligned with social media strategy and audience interests.
● Optimize channel SEO, metadata, hashtags, and keyword strategies to improve search visibility.
● Track and analyze performance metrics, using insights to refi ne content distribution strategies and improve engagement.
● Implement UTM tracking and analytics reporting to measure eff ectiveness and guide future strategy.
● Engage in website conversations and integrate social media initiatives with broader marketing campaigns.
● Work closely with the Content Strategist & Creator and the Director of Marketing Communications to brainstorm new ideas and refi ne strategies for organic audience growth.
● Create content calendars and schedule/post content delivered from Content Strategist and Creator, and the Director of Marketing Communications. You will also be expected to write high engagement captions for all content posted on the channels.
● Contribute to content creation, including basic video editing, overlay text for multilingual channels, image formatting, story posts with links, YouTube thumbnail and cover image creatives, etc.
What You Bring
● 3-5 years of hands-on experience in social media management with a proven track record of growing audiences and increasing engagement.
● Expert knowledge of social media algorithms and best practices for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
● Experience managing multiple platforms simultaneously while ensuring cohesive branding and messaging.
● SEO expertise with an understanding of how to optimize posts, hashtags, metadata, and search visibility.
● Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to craft compelling social media posts and blog content. If you rely solely on AI for copy, this role is not for you.
● Basic video editing experience for adding multilingual overlay text and repurposing content for diff erent platforms.
● Experience with platforms such as Canva or Photoshop.
● Profi ciency in analytics tools such as Facebook Insights, TikTok Analytics, YouTube Studio, and UTM tracking.
● Familiarity with AI tools that assist in content optimization, data analysis, and workfl ow automation.
● A highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to social media strategy and execution.
