The Social Media Manager is responsible for strategy development and documentation, owning creative briefs, publishing content, community management, analyzing and optimizing performance and serving as a client contact. Social media channels managed include Fanology agency clients, Filmmakers Table, Filmmakers Academy, Film Crew Institute, Richard Janes and others as assigned and manageable.
Position Duties
- Develop concepts for video content across social media channels and oversee production process
- Create copy for social and digital media channels
- Schedule social media content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn using tools such as Sprinklr and Loomly.
- Create and optimize paid social media campaigns.
- Working with the Head of Marketing, establish KPIs and goals that align with business goals.
- Analyze performance by channel weekly to report to leadership - include recommendations to enhance performance.
- Strong ability to write creative and engaging copy.
- Community Management - respond to inbound questions and comments on social channels and find opportunities to engage with other accounts.
- Own management and distribution of content calendars
- Own project management tool (Asana)
- Accountable for tracking billable hours
- Account management - create meeting agendas and notes
- Ensure projects are staying on time and on budget
- Responsible for briefing in creative partners
- Stays up-to-date on social media trends to apply to client content
- Own competitive analysis for clients
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Education
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English is preferred
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in social media management, digital marketing and content creation
- Portfolio: A proven track record or live portfolio demonstrating real-world campaign results and content samples
- Certifications (Optional): Industry credentials like the Hootsuite Academy Social Media Marketing Certification or Meta/Google digital credentials can strengthen an application

- Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of social channels including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with scheduling and analytics dashboards like Sprinklr, Google Analytics and CRM tools
- Soft Skills: Strong copywriting, creative problem-solving, exceptional time management, and cross-departmental collaboration
- Client Service: Ability to interface with clients in a professional manner while delivering excellent work on established deadlines
