TrueNorth is seeking a Social Media Intern to join the Growth Marketing Team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on planning and scheduling content, brand storytelling, and reporting on campaign performance to elevate our social presence.

The internship runs 11 weeks (May–August 2027) and is paid, with on-site work in Cedar Rapids and housing provided for those needing it during the summer. Candidates should be sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing related studies.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status, currently pursuing Marketing/Communications/Public Relations or related field.
• Proficient in social media scheduling tools such as Sprout, Hootsuite, Canva or Adobe preferred.
• Prior internship or job experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with writing, editing, and scheduling social media posts across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
• Support the creation of graphics, video clips, and other multimedia assets for social content.
• Monitor social media channels for trends, engagement opportunities, and community interaction.
• Track and report on social media performance and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with marketing team members to support campaigns and content calendar execution.

Our internship program is an 11-week paid program, running May - August 2027. This position will be fully on site in our Cedar Rapids, IA office. Housing will be provided for those who do not have housing for the summer months in Cedar Rapids.

As a Social Media Intern, You Will:
