The Social Media Digital Coordinator will work directly with the Communications Manager to advance FICPFM’s digital communications strategy. The Associate will oversee FICPFM’s social media platforms, manage website updates and functionality, and provide digital and technical support for FICPFM’s campaigns and public engagement efforts. They will ensure consistent and strategic digital outreach that supports our mission of creating safer and healthier communities and transforming the criminal legal system.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, creative individual who is passionate about digital storytelling, community engagement, and social justice.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
- Manage daily content scheduling, posting, and engagement across all FICPFM social media platforms (Twitter/X /X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Design visually compelling graphics, videos, and multimedia assets using Canva or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain content calendars to align with campaign timelines and amplify organizational messaging.
- Monitor social media trends and best practices to inform strategy and growth.
Website Management:
- Maintain and update FICPFM’s website content, ensuring timely posting of news, events, and resources.
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager and, if needed, external developers to implement website improvements.
- Track website analytics and make recommendations for enhancing user experience and engagement.
Campaign Support:
- Provide digital and technical support for national campaigns, petitions, webinars, and virtual events.
- Assist in creating and distributing digital toolkits, graphics, and email communications for campaigns.
- Support the collection, maintenance and reporting of digital campaign metrics.
Technical and Administrative Support:
- Help troubleshoot basic digital and technology needs across the communications department (e.g., graphic sizing, uploading content, organizing shared drives).
- Maintain a digital archive of assets, photos, videos, and campaign materials.
- Assist with CRM and email marketing platform management (e.g., Mailchimp, NationBuilder, or similar).
Communications Assistance:
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager to track and report on justice-related activities across the Quest for Democracy network.
- Assist in developing stakeholder profiles, communications toolkits, and blog content.
- Stay informed on best practices in nonprofit communications, digital fundraising, and graphic design.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing digital content, preferably in a nonprofit, campaign, or advocacy setting.
- Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- High degree of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to narrative, tone, and voice.
- Familiarity with basic website management (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS).
- Knowledge of social justice, criminal justice reform, or community organizing is highly desirable.
- Commitment to FICPFM’s mission and values. Individuals with lived experience of incarceration or system involvement are strongly encouraged to apply.
