$40,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Social Media Coordinator to grow and engage LUNGevity’s online communities, creating awareness of resources and helpful support information to lung cancer patients and caregivers. This role understands content targeted to various audiences and is adept at increasing engagement across all social media channels. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written communication skills, expertise in social media platforms, and a genuine passion for creating meaningful connections with constituents in the lung cancer community. This role involves community engagement, content management, and fostering partnerships within the lung cancer community. The duties listed in this position description are a general summary and not meant to be all inclusive.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Expand online communities, including Facebook Groups and Lung Cancer Support Community online forums.
  • Engage directly with patients and caregivers by answering questions, providing resources, and offering emotional support. In no situation is it acceptable to provide medical advice.
  • Share relevant content from the LUNGevity Facebook Page and Patient Gateways to ensure timely delivery of helpful information and resources.
  • Initiate conversations and cultivate a warm, welcoming environment for patients and caregivers.

Content Management:

  • Schedule approved posts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky, TikTok, X and others.
  • Identify and engage with key social media personalities in the lung cancer community to foster partnerships and collaboration.

Social Media Engagement:

  • Monitor and respond to comments on LUNGevity’s social media platforms, ensuring a compassionate and informative tone.
  • Interact with partner posts through likes, comments, and shares to strengthen relationships and visibility.
  • Reshare relevant content to amplify awareness and support within the community.
  • Alert supervisor of any trending activity, negative or positive.

Administrative:

  • Use tools like Microsoft Office, Asana, and social media scheduling software to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain organized records of content performance, engagement metrics, and scheduling workflows.
  • Operate effectively as a valued member of the Marketing and Communications team, handling everyday tasks as required.
  • Interact with other departments, as required, to understand Foundation’s events, programs and support materials in order to appropriately communicate about them.

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 3 years experience in Community Management and/or Social Media.
  • Proficient in managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky, TikTok, and X.
  • Familiarity with Facebook Groups, online forums, and community management.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a keen ability to adapt tone for various audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects and problem solve.
  • Collaborative and works well with a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Asana, and social media scheduling tools.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.

Salary Range

$40,000 - $50,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
