Job summary

Maker's Craft Brewery in Norfolk seeks a part-time Social Media Coordinator to plan and post regular updates about shows, events, and daily happenings. You will create engaging content, assist with newsletters, and help expand our presence on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

The role requires graphic editing with Canva and GIMP, strong organization, and scheduling flexibility. Occasional bartending shifts with tips are possible based on events and needs.

Responsibilities

Job description

Maker's Craft Brewery has been brewing and serving delicious craft beer since 2019. A large taproom, big yard, bigger event room (7000 sq ft), cigar lounge and Emerson's humidor, we can accomodate everyone.

All our beer, sodas and hard seltzer are brewed in house with regular new additions and experiments.

We are currently looking to hire someone that would be in charge of our social media and online presence.

The responsibilities involve planning regular posts regarding events, daily happenings, and creating engaging content to help promote the business.

This can also mean help in the designing of graphics, creation of events online, maintining a newletter,collaborating with partner organizations, or assisting with other tasks relating to the promotion and running of the business.

The social media coordinator needs to be creative and in tune with current trends, while being discerning in what posts would be a good fit for the business. Our main presence in through Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, but we are looking for someone that can expand on our current presence.

All employees of the brewery are expected to be able to take on some beer tending shifts at least once or twice a week, with adjusted hourly rate plus tips.

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to work in a smoking environment

Public and Private Events

You may be scheduled to work in the event space, and beyond standard bartending, this can also mean helping move tables and chairs in and out of the room and deep cleaning of the space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with social media platforms, mostly Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
• Experience with graphics and editing (Canva and GIMP)
• Previous experience in the service industry preferred
• Organized and methodical, there are many moving parts to keep track of.
• Good time management, and flexibility when it comes to scheduling.

Hours and pay

20h in office a week for social media coordination at $16/h

Bartending shifts as scheduled at $5/h plus tips (average $20/hour +)
