Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications-related field.
• 1–2 years of related experience or training.
• Extensive knowledge of all social media platforms.
• Strong writing skills and ability to proofread for accuracy.
• Working knowledge of marketing strategies, digital media, and analytics.
• 12 college-level Biblical Studies credits (or opportunity to complete after hire).

Responsibilities

• Develop creative content for review and posting on Samaritan's Purse social channels (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).
• Manage social media engagement and respond to comments/direct messages to maintain brand consistency.
• Collaborate with marketing, editorial, photography teams, and other ministries to implement cohesive campaigns.
• Gather assets for social platforms and support department-specific channels (World Medical Mission, Childrens Heart Project, etc.).
• Oversee social media campaign plans with data analysis, research, planning, and implementation.
• Stay current on social media trends and adjust campaigns in coordination with the marketing team.

Samaritan's Purse is actively seeking a Social Media Coordinator in Boone, NC, supporting our marketing team in the Communications Department. This role will implement best practices in social media and engage with audiences on social media platforms. Come use your giftings and talents for the sake of the gospel.

A day in the life of a Social Media Coordinator:

At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of Social Media Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Develop creative content for review and approval to be posted on Samaritan's Purse social media outlets, including: Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Manage and oversee social media engagement through comments and direct messages from social media followers to maintain a consistent brand
• Works closely with multiple departments to include marketing, editorial, photography staff, and other areas of the ministry, such as Broadcast, Operation Christmas Child, and the Presidents office to implement cohesive campaigns on social media
• Gather assets for Facebook, X, Instagram, and other social media platforms
• Collaborate with ministry department to facilitate and manage department-specific social media channels, including World Medical Mission, Childrens Heart Project, U.S. Disasters Relief, and Operation Heal Our Patriots
• Oversee social media-specific campaign plans in coordination with the marketing team, including data analysis, research, planning, and implementation of social media strategies across all platforms
• Continuously stay current on social media-specific campaign plans in coordination with the marketing team, including data analysis, research, planning, and implementation of social media strategies across all platforms
• Develop social media-specific campaign with coordination of the marketing team to include data analysis, research, planning, and implementation of social media strategies across all platforms
• Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Extensive knowledge of all social media platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong writing experience, preferably
• Must be able to proofread text and make corrections in spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and factual accuracy
• Working knowledge of marketing strategies, digital media, social media tools, resources, and analytics
• 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
