About Reed’s Rescue:

Reed’s Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing senior and terminally ill dogs from area shelters. Our mission is to give these dogs a second chance at life by finding loving homes through adoption and fostering. We are seeking a passionate volunteer to join our marketing team and help us amplify our message through creative and engaging social media content.

Position Overview:

As a Social Media Content Creation Specialist, you will play a key role in developing compelling social media content to raise awareness for Reed’s Rescue, engage our community, and promote our rescue efforts. This position will focus on creating short-form videos, static posts, and other digital content for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Your creativity will directly contribute to increasing engagement and support for our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Design and create dynamic social media content, including micro videos, and static posts, to engage followers on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Video Production: Produce short-form videos highlighting our rescues, events, and success stories. Edit raw footage with visuals, music, and text overlays to ensure polished final products.
• Social Media Strategy: Work with the marketing team to align and create content with Reed's Rescue’s mission and goals. Stay up-to-date with social media trends and incorporate popular hashtags and challenges to boost visibility.
• Trendspotting: Stay ahead of trends on Instagram and TikTok, creating relevant and viral content that resonates with our audience.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure that all content aligns with Reed’s Rescue’s brand strategy and voice, ensuring consistency across all platforms.

Requirements:

• Passion for animals and a strong desire to help raise awareness for senior and terminally ill dogs.
• Excellent storytelling skills and the ability to craft content that connects emotionally with our audience.
• Experience with video production and editing, with proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, InShot, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), with a deep understanding of how to create shareable content for these platforms.
• A creative mindset with an ability to create visually appealing, engaging, and thought-provoking content.
• Proactive attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team in a virtual environment
• Exceptional understanding of the social media landscape and bring creative ideas to life.
• Must be located in the United States.

Nice-to-haves:

• Live in Maryland and able to attend onsite events to capture dynamic content.
• 2+ years experience in video production, journalism, or communications
• Volunteering and/or Nonprofit experience designing animated nonprofit intro videos.
• Foster community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and creating conversations that make followers feel connected to the cause.
