Amal Kapen Interiors is a full-service residential interior design firm and curated retail showroom based in Cold Spring Harbor, New York. Known for refined, layered, color-rich interiors with a “new traditional” sensibility, our work has been featured in Veranda, The Wall Street Journal, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, NYC&G, and more. In 2025, principal designer Amal Kapen was selected for the prestigious Kips Bay Palm Beach Decorator Showhouse.

We’re looking for a creative, organized, and visually sharp Social Media & E-Commerce Marketing Intern to help grow our Instagram presence, support our Shopify shop, and bring the AKI brand to life online. This is a fantastic opportunity to work inside a nationally published design firm and retail showroom with active projects across Long Island, the Hamptons, Manhattan, Florida, and beyond.

What you’ll do:

• Help create, edit, caption, and schedule approximately 8 Instagram posts per week, including Reels, Stories, carousels, and shop content
• Assist with developing a weekly/monthly content calendar
• Write captions that are polished, clever, and aligned with the AKI voice
• Help photograph and organize showroom inventory, project details, behind-the-scenes moments, and styling content
• Support Shopify updates, including uploading products, editing product descriptions, organizing images, and maintaining shop listings
• Research design trends, Instagram best practices, relevant hashtags, and competitor strategies
• Assist with email marketing, blog content, press tracking, and broader marketing projects as needed
• Keep digital assets organized, including photography, video clips, captions, and product information
• Keep our shopify website up to date; monitoring product requests and instagram inquiries.

What we’re looking for:

• You are based on Long Island
• A student, recent graduate, or early-career marketing/social media professional
• Strong visual taste and a genuine interest in interiors, decorating, antiques, retail, and beautiful things
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Instagram, especially Reels, Stories, carousels, and current platform trends
• Familiarity with Canva Shopify, or similar tools is a plus
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a small creative business
• Able to work in our Cold Spring Harbor office/showroom at least three days per week
• Have your own polished Instagram, TikTok, blog, or portfolio
• Love antiques, color, wallpaper, beautiful trim, and the thrill of a good before-and-after
