Job summary

The Afterschool Alliance in Washington, DC is seeking a Communications Associate to support our mission by leveraging strong communications, data analytics, and tech tools to educate and engage diverse audiences.

You will manage social media, coordinate across teams, and craft messages that resonate with stakeholders while helping to grow our online presence and support in-person and virtual events.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading for emails, blogs, social media and websites.
• Experience writing for social media, website, blog and emails.
• Experience maintaining audience lists and CRM systems like Salesforce.
• Storytelling skills and ability to convey data visually.
• Experience coordinating events and presentations.
• Ability to analyze metrics and report on communications performance.
• Comfort learning new software and systems.
• Passion for youth-focused afterschool and summer programs.

Responsibilities

• Execute integrated social media campaigns across channels.
• Draft and publish content across X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Bluesky.
• Design graphics using Canva or Creative Suite.
• Build audience segments and manage lifecycle and lists.
• Analyze analytics and report metrics to the team.
• Contribute to events strategy and execution, in-person and virtual.
• Support livestreams, webinars and video content creation.
