Job summary

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the Public Relations and Communications Strategy team. The role focuses on assisting with social media accounts, coordinating responses to general inquiries, and assisting with email marketing and website content.

This hybrid position prefers candidates who reside in Virginia, Washington, DC, or Maryland and can commute for in-person meetings at least two days a month.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree; bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in communications, event coordination, public relations, or a related role.
• Experience managing customer service correspondence and coordinating information across multiple departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proofreading and editing competencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing software, CMS, and design tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and distribution of email marketing campaigns.
• Monitor performance of email marketing campaigns and create periodic reports.
• Monitor [e-mail] email account daily, responding to questions and routing emails to PRCS team members and other ASWB departments as appropriate.
• Assist with social media management and content posting under guidance of the Senior Manager.
• Coordinate with internal departments to support ASWB's customer service and communications goals.
• Provide proofreading and other support for departmental projects.
• Provide administrative support for PRCS team members as needed.
