831 Stories is seeking a hands-on Social & Content Manager to own day-to-day social, web, and email content, bringing our romance world to life across platforms.
You will shoot, edit, write captions, manage content calendar, coordinate assets, and publish posts, while aligning with the strategy set by our small team.
Based in New York City, you should be comfortable attending in-person events and turning ideas into consistently great execution.
We're looking to fall hard for a Social & Content Manager - is it you?!
831 Stories is a romantic fiction publisher and entertainment company. We publish joyful, sexy, immersive romance novellas and build worlds around them-from events and fan fiction to merch, membership, and everything else that makes being a fan more fun.
We're looking for a Social & Content Manager to help bring these stories to life across web, email, and social.
This is a hands-on production-oriented role for someone who is extremely online, detail-oriented, highly organized, creatively sharp, and very good at making things happen. You'll own the day-to-day execution of 831 Stories's social channels and be responsible for building website content, marketing emails, and other marketing materials. You'll bring our content calendar to life by coordinating assets and approvals, producing and publishing content, capturing moments in real time, and making sure good ideas actually make it out into the world.
You won't be starting from a blank page. You'll work closely with the rest of the small 831 team, including a social strategist, who will set the overarching strategy, creative direction, and priorities. Your job is to become an expert in the strategy, approach, and style set by 831 and to turn it into consistently great execution-while bringing your own ideas, instincts, and point of view to the work.
We're looking for someone who has taste but is not precious about their ideas or getting their hands dirty. Someone who notices when the crop is wrong, the caption isn't quite there, or there's an opportunity to make something better-and fixes it. Someone who can be handed a calendar, a launch, a set of copy and creative, or an abstract prompt and be trusted to run with it.
This role has a lot of room to grow, but it isn't a senior social strategy position on day one. We're looking for someone excited by the craft and operations of content and social: constructing the post, getting it up, covering the event, keeping the calendar moving, and making every piece a little better.
The right person will be ambitious enough to want more ownership over time—and good enough that we'll want to give it to them.
You don't need to have done every part of this job before. We're much more interested in someone smart, hungry, resourceful, and creatively tuned-in who has a track record of punching above their weight.
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 with benefits.
