Job summary

Rhode Island FC in Rhode Island is seeking a Director of Sports Performance to lead the physical preparation and performance programs for our professional soccer team. This is a hands-on role responsible for strength and conditioning, player workload monitoring, performance testing, and supporting the return-to-play process.

Reporting to the Head Coach, the director will own the team’s performance program, collaborate with technical and medical staff on planning and implementation, manage budget

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the team’s strength, conditioning, and physical preparation programs.
• Lead daily warm-ups, mobility, activation, gym sessions, and other physical preparation activities.
• Coordinate physical preparation with training schedule and objectives.
• Develop offseason, preseason, and in-season conditioning programs.
• Monitor player fitness and readiness throughout the season.
• Design individualized strength and conditioning programs as needed.
• Coordinate programs for players not traveling with the team with the medical staff.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust as needed.
