Job summary

Brighton School is seeking an Elementary Soccer Assistant Coach for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This part-time role averages about 5–6 hours weekly, totaling 32 hours across the eight‑week fall season.

Hours run 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. on practice days and 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. on game days, with three practices weekly and two games. Prior coaching experience and a high school diploma are required.

About the Role

Brighton School is seeking an Elementary Soccer Assistant Coach to support student-athletes in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This part-time position requires about 5-6 hours per week, totaling 32 hours during the eight-week fall season.

Hours are 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on practice days and 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on game days. The role includes three practices per week and two games during the season, with the potential for additional seasonal coaching opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach during soccer practices and games
  • Help teach age-appropriate soccer fundamentals, skills, and sportsmanship
  • Demonstrate a consistent commitment to the safety and wellbeing of student-athletes
  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive participation
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of practices and games
  • Assist with the management of athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree encouraged
  • Prior coaching experience required, preferably in soccer or youth athletics
  • Knowledge of fundamental soccer skills, rules, and techniques
  • Ability to coach athletes of different ages and skill levels
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to coaching young athletes
  • Ability to access and utilize technology
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, and community members
