Job summary

Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, seeks a dedicated Soccer Coach to develop and supervise the club program in line with university objectives. You will guide student-athletes, plan practices, and coordinate competition schedules both on and off campus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Self-starter and problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Instruct student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, and team concepts of Soccer.
• Provide team supervision at practices and competitions both on and off campus.
• Develop and implement practices and competitions to provide a positive and competitive experience for players.
• Manage a Fall and Spring season of approximately 6-8 weeks in length each semester.
• Establish team rules and protocols and implement and enforce appropriately.
• Maintain a roster that is inclusive while ensuring safety.
• Build a network of college club programs and athletic contests to match for competition.
• Inventory and monitor equipment and facilities for safety and maintenance.
• Meet with the Director of Recreation to evaluate roster, budget and schedule.
• Represent the university at recruitment events when needed.
• Adhere to university policies and Club Sport Conference rules.
