Job summary

Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, invites applications for a Part-Time Club Sport Coach for Men's Rugby. You will supervise and develop the team, plan practices, and coordinate competitions with other college clubs.

The role requires mentoring student-athletes, strong communication, and adherence to NCAA/Conference/University rules. CPR/First Aid certification and a valid driver’s license are preferred; experience coaching at the high school or college level is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Chauffer's license or willingness to obtain equivalent endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to university policies and Dean of Students guidelines.
• Instruct student-athletes in rugby rules, fundamentals and team concepts.
• Develop and implement practices and competitions for a positive, competitive experience.
• Build a network of college club programs to arrange appropriate competitions.
• Establish team rules and protocols; enforce them.
• Provide supervision at practices and competitions on and off campus.
• Communicate regularly with current student-athletes and prospective players.
• Meet with the Director of Recreation to evaluate roster, budget and schedule.
• Represent the university and team at recruitment events.
• Comply with NCAA/Conference/Salve Regina rules and regulations.
