Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking on-call archaeological field technicians for Southern California projects. You will monitor construction activities for archaeological resources, coordinate with crews, and document findings using field forms and GIS tools.

Travel to various ESA office locations across Southern California is required. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology, can walk long distances with gear, lift up to 50 lbs, and are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology/geology or related field.
• Open to travel for projects with mileage/travel reimbursements.
• Ability to use app-based software for field recordation and mapping.
• ESA pays within defined geographic ranges; pay can vary by location.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities for archaeological/paleontological resources.
• Communicate effectively with construction crews and project staff.
• Write and maintain daily survey, monitoring, recordation, and cataloging logs; use data collection tools and GIS.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as needed on field projects.
